Mexico News

The Abbotsford Vineyard has been involved in Mexico for the past six years, serving at the Door of Faith Orphanage, participating in a breakfast program in Tijuana, delivering food hampers to the poor and building brand new homes for families in need.
Recently, we have felt called to partner with our friends at La Hermosa Church in Primo Tapia, Mexico, to renovate and run La Hermosa Children's Home and Outreach Center.
The Center will care for children during the day, provide meals, assist with education and offer family support. The program will bring children out of orphanages and reunite them with their families. It will also keep other children from having to be placed in orphanages due to economic hardship. A Food Bank and Employment Training Center will also be run out of the Outreach Center.
This year we have sent two teams that completed the first two phases of the project (75% complete). Over the past several months we have sent funds so that men from La Hermosa Church can continue the work. These men would otherwise be unemployed so it has been a wonderful opportunity to provide for them and their families while continuing the work on this important project.
There will be a Mexico Missions Information Night on Thursday, October 7th
This is for anyone who is interested joining our next missions trip to Mexico over Christmas Break, and for those who would like information on La Hermosa Children's Home and Outreach Center. We are still securing donations and raising funds for the completion and operating costs of the Children's Home. We also want to dream and pray about plans for a Training/Equipping Center and Food Bank Program. Join us at our Ministry Center at 7:30 pm. For more information contact Gary Stephens.
La Hermosa Children's Home and Outreach Center could open as early as January 2011. It will cost approximately $50,000 for operating costs each year.
