The backbone of our heart for missions is a passion for serving and loving and pouring our lives out in generosity. One of the unique ways we reach out to our own community is through our Free!Style Ministry, which provides a variety of brand new, high-quality clothing that we give away to individuals and families who could use it. This often opens the doors to conversations, relationships, and continued opportunities to serve those in need.
We take the Free!Style trailer to different locations throughout Abbotsford and invite people to “shop” in our trailer and choose an outfit or two for free. However, the Free!Style experience goes far beyond providing a free outfit. We go out into our community to serve, build relationships, and share a message of hope – hope for belonging, hope for community, and hope for the future.
In Free!Style’s first few years, we have not only sorted through mountains of clothing donations, we have taken Free!Style to the Peardonville House Women’s Recovery Centre and the Cyrus Centre, a drop-in centre for youth at risk, and have hosted a number of events in partnership with the Abbotsford Food Bank, Best for Babies, and Community Services.
Free!Style provides us with the opportunity to serve and connect with our community and neighbours and to share God’s transforming love with them.
This is an exciting ministry with many opportunities to use your skills and passions. If you’d like to join us for an event, pick up donations, help us sort clothes, mend and press clothes if needed, provide refreshments, package kids’ activity bags, help with trailer maintenance, and/or if you have a creative idea or heart to serve and just want more information, please contact us below.
