Are you thinking about getting engaged? Are you engaged and planning your wedding? Are you already married and looking for a couple to walk alongside you and encourage you and support you in marriage? Are you struggling to find life in your marriage? We at the Abbotsford Vineyard Church believe that authentic community, support, and accountability is vital for success in marriage.
The Marriage Mentoring program at The Abbotsford Vineyard is made up of mentor couples who are committed to AVC and have a heart to walk with other couples as they look to renew, enrich or prepare for marriage. These couples have been screened and trained to facilitate the Enrich Canada Marriage Mentoring program: to teach, train, mentor in the areas of communication, conflict resolution, stress management, financial management, leisure activities, relationship roles, sexual relationship and expectations, spiritual beliefs, children and parenting and more. Furthermore, they themselves are experienced married couples that enjoy strong and healthy (but not perfect) marriages. Information on our Marriage Mentors available here.
WHAT HAPPENS IN MARRIAGE MENTORING?
You will be paired with a mentor couple to build a rapport and learn about the program. As a couple, you will fill out a customized online inventory, answering questions related to various areas in your relationship. The results of this inventory will be provided to you with feedback from your mentor couple over the course of your Marriage Mentoring sessions. This typically includes six to ten 1-1.5hr sessions which will help you develop skills in communication and conflict resolution. These skills will be developed with the help of practical exercises and direction from the mentor couple. Expect encouragement, support, prayer, love, accountability, wisdom and understanding.
The cost for marriage mentoring is $200 and covers your online inventory and couple workbooks and 6-12 sessions with our marriage mentors. If the $200 is a strain financially, please let us know and we’ll make arrangements for you to still be able to participate.
