Are you interested in having fun, making friends, going on trips, participating in outreach/missions and meeting Jesus? If you are, then Warehouse Student Ministry is for you! We have a great group of students in grades six through twelve who have a passion for Jesus, knowing His Word, wanting to be more like him, and sharing Jesus with those around them. We also like to and know how to have FUN! We also have an amazing Youth Leadership Team of young adults and adults who want to walk life with you, encourage you and mentor you along the way.
WHAT WE’RE ABOUT
Abbotsford Vineyard Student Ministry exists to equip, empower, and encourage youth grades six through twelve to truly live an abundant life in the pursuit of Jesus (John 10:10).
Our vision is to draw students to Christ from all walks of life. We want to practically love young people and share Jesus with them so they encounter the life and person of Jesus in every area of their lives – heart, soul, mind, and strength (Luke 10:27). We want to help students learn to love God and become equipped for a life of service to him. As a result, we are committed to walking with students through all seasons of life, whether good or bad, and not to abandon them when things get messy or tough. Furthermore, we seek to let our own lives point them towards Jesus.
Our aim is to train and empower a generation of students who want nothing more than to see Jesus and his Kingdom come in their lives and community (Matthew 6:9-10).
WE PRAY HARD AND PLAY HARD
We are a group of students who have decided to follow Jesus. However, we not only desire to follow him for our own individual gain, but to live out our faith in a continually active and deepening relationship with him that overflows to our peers and, our community, and in every situation. We want to stand on the promises of God for our generation and will not give up the fight for what God wants to do in and through us. Therefore, we choose to actively fight against all the works of the enemy as we seek the kingdom of God on earth. We choose to be a group that speaks truth, life, and hope. We choose to love our friends and peers like Jesus. We choose to engage in community and to pursue Jesus together.
And we are a group of students that believe that the abundant life God has called us to live is an incredibly joy-filled life! We have a lot of fun at AVC Student Ministry. Just as we set aside time to pray, encounter God in worship, build relationships, and study the Bible; we also reserve space for playing games, taking trips, relaxing, and goofing off. We want to live intentional passion-filled lives and that passion fuels our prayer, worship, and play.
Our student ministry meets weekly on Wednesday nights at 7pm throughout the school year. A typical night consists of playing, praying, bible reading, building relationships, and worship as well as playing games, relaxing, hanging out, or sitting and drinking a pop or specialty coffee. Our goal for each week is simply that we would encounter Jesus – individually and as a community.
In addition to our weekly meetings, we want to be involved with what God is doing in our church as whole, so we often serve with the Abbotsford Food Bank and AVC’s Free!style ministry. We also go on a number of trips such as the Fall Kick off camp, the Corn Maze, Laser Tag, bowling and skiing just a to name a few.
