Weslet and Aileen Vildort, long-time members of the Abbotsford Vineyard, desire to see transformation in Haiti, specifically in the areas of agriculture and education. Weslet and Aileen, along with their daughter, Elena, are serving in Haiti with the organization, Planting Life Haiti, or “Plante Lavi” in Haitian Creole. Plante Lavi desires to “plant life” spiritually, educationally, and agriculturally. Plante Lavi has hosted several short-term teams of volunteers to lead kids’ VBS lessons, share donations and Bibles with community members, and collaborate with farmers to introduce and use drip irrigation systems. This year, the Vildorts are in Haiti to serve in agriculture and education. Weslet will be managing several fields that use drip irrigation, and working with farmers in agricultural development. Aileen will pursue a vision of training teachers from a biblical perspective. We hope to follow the guidance in I Peter 4:10, which says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” It is our hearts’ desire to see God transform Haiti and give it new life with the hope of Jesus.
